Included with the sock is a 5 gallon bucket of environmentally friendly, non-corrosive granular ice melt.

  • Sock size 4" x 18" tube
  • Fill with 3 -12 lbs. of ice melt
  • Each tube will give 5 ft. of coverage.
  • Place a tube every 3 ft. or more for severe ice dams.

The best way to prevent ice dams from causing roof damage or snow from accumulating on solar panels is by not allowing the freezing process to begin. Roof ice melt socks turn snow, ice, and sleet into a deicing liquid that works all season to do just that.

Laying a snow melt sock onto the roof so it crosses the ice dam and overhangs the gutter will melt through the snow and ice and create a channel for water to flow down into the gutters or off the roof.
